Just Another Poet
is Wales' first Youtube poetry channel founded by Taz Rahman in May 2019 to widen access to contemporary poets.
The channel received its first literary commission in April 2020 from Literature Wales and subsequently, the 'New Audience Creation' grants 2022-23 and 2023-24 from the Books Council of Wales' which have supported programming with a wider focus on promoting the whole poetry publishing apparatus and exploring ways of connecting diverse new audiences to contemporary poets.
The advisory board for the channel: Welsh poets Natalie Ann Holborow, Suzanne Iuppa, Indian poet Jonaki Ray, nature writer Lottie Williams, novelist Hammad Rind, Welsh-language biographer Alun Gibbard, and contemporary Caucasus culture expert Dr. Neil Watson.
2024 In the Pipeline:
I am delighted to say that the Books Council of Wales has continued to offer funding support to the Just Another Poet channel from the third annual round of the New Audience Fun. Exciting episodes of interviews and documentaries are in the pipeline featuring established and emerging names from Wales!
